How to stand out: Say what you mean & Stand for your truth

podcasts Sep 04, 2020

We had an incredible interview today learning about how our guests have been able to stand out in their industries and make a difference! We met my co-host Indi Rossi who has made a HUGE name for herself as an influencer on Youtube. We also interviewed Ashley Schmitz and learned how she has a passion for finance and her aspirations are to create financial peace for her clients. Joan Michelson stood in her truth and gave us great advice on hiring people around you with different views to stretch your beliefs! LOVE that! #Thrive Thursday: Meet Nell Merlino, Founder of Count Me in Revival

What is your story? Or in other words, what made you your awesome self you are today?

I created Take Our Daughters to Work Day, with the Ms. Foundation for Women in 1993, in which over 25 million people participated in the first two years. I then expanded my strategic communications consultancy to develop winning campaigns, strategies, and events for dozens of clients, including the YWCA, Amnesty International, Gay Men's Health Crisis, The Sierra Club, Calvert, The Sister Fund, and the NGO Forum on Women in Beijing '95.

In 2000, I launched Count Me In for Women's Economic Independence, the first online microlender in the world. This grew to encompass the Women Veterans Entrepreneur Corp and the Make Mine a Million $ Business program with founding sponsor American Express and champions including Hillary Clinton, Suze Orman, Nely Galan, Valerie Morris (CNN), and Janet Napolitano.

Recently, I've revived the "Count me in" campaign to help female entrepreneurs in the wake of...

#Thrive Thursday: Meet Judy Gaman, CEO, Award-winning Author, Speaker

What is your story? Or in other words, what made you your awesome self you are today?

I was the kid on the front row, not because I loved school so much, but because I had to listen and listen intently. Back then, we didn’t test for dyslexia. It wasn’t until I was an adult with a dyslexic child that I saw my struggles for what they were. I was able to learn a new way to embrace my learning difference, went back to college, graduating top of my undergraduate class, and then on to graduate school. This struggle propelled my ability to listen to others with real intent, never take education for granted, and see the nugget of brilliance in others. (Sometimes diamonds just need to be polished)

My teenage self would NEVER believe that I’m an author, podcast host, and CEO of a thriving business.

What message do you promote?

Celebrate your struggles. Embrace your differences. Never let anyone else define who you can become.

What is your story? Or in other words, what made you your awesome self you are today?

I want to answer this question by sharing a real story that happened to me.

I worked for a small IT firm outside of Boston, MA, in Merrimack, NH. I was a part-time collections specialist and was assigned $8 Million in outstanding invoices. The company was owed $8 Million for Sales that were on the books but not in the bank.

I reflected for a moment on how serious this was I prayed a short prayer that basically said: “God I don’t know what happened to get this company this far deep in debt, I am asking for your guidance to untangle these disconnects and recover this money”.  I recovered $6Million Dollars in 60 days while working part-time. The CEO made an executive decision to close the company 2 months before the holidays and 100 people’s lives were turned upside down. I decided to learn as much as I could about B2B collections and create a business that solves problems...

#Thrive Thursday: Meet Rori Montali, Founder at Rori Montali

thrive thursday Aug 18, 2020

What is your story? Or in other words, what made you your awesome self you are today?

I've had many challenges in my earlier life that have contributed to me being who I am today. I've had to overcome sexual trauma at six years old, abandonment, alcohol, and drugs, and it was through finding a higher self of God. I am now able to be in awareness of not feeling numb in areas that a woman should not naturally feel. And it was during this journey that I discovered my tantric practices of intimacy and connection through multiple explorations and safe containers around exploring what it feels like to be close with someone again.

This has led me, earlier in my career to be able to help others find the connection to their true desires and to manifest living in the desired world also, for them to explore love for self and then love possibly with another human being. They take that intimacy within self into the world of leadership and to another level of how to do business on intimate...

#Thrive Thursday: Meet Liz Sara, Founder Best Marketing LLC

thrive thursday Aug 11, 2020

What is your story? Or in other words, what made you the great success you are today?

Everyone’s definition of success differs. Money, power, fame represent a few common attributes of success many people seek.  For me, success means being able to do work – marketing and business strategy consulting -- that I’m not only quite adept at but which delivers tremendous professional and personal satisfaction.  On top of that, being able to enjoy immense schedule flexibility as my own boss and small business owner enhances that.  I really love what I do, and that comes across to the tech founders that hire me.  I consider myself lucky that early in my career, I knew what I was good at and have been happily doing it ever since.  That’s a success.

What message do you promote?

As a female co-founder of a software company during the 1990s, I lived through getting a software company off the ground, growing it to 300 employees...

#Thrive Thursday: Meet Traci Sigafoos, Travel Agent Sandals Specialist

thrive thursday Aug 11, 2020

What is your story? Or in other words, what made you your awesome self you are today?

I have always been a happy person since I can remember.  I come from a large, extremely close Italian family. I learned from my parents how to love unconditionally. I am blessed with close friendships that I have had since childhood.  I am a lucky Momma of 3 great children. There have been some obstacles in my life too, which made opportunities to grow and learn about myself.  It has made me independent and confident in the decisions I make in life.  Woman, in general, wears many hats: Daughter, Sister, Employee, Wife, and Mom.  I have learned to enjoy each moment in time.  My advice to others would be, “Try to make every day special and remember to smile.”

What message do you promote?

Positivity.  I wake up and get my work done with a smile.  I am thankful for every day, for my family, friends, and all of the things I have learned in my...

Meet Colleen Biggs-Pioneer for Women Change Makers

leadership Aug 07, 2020

https://shoutoutarizona.com/meet-colleen-biggs-pioneer-for-women-change-makers/

We had the good fortune of connecting with Colleen Biggs and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Colleen, what do you attribute your success to?
The success of a brand has more to do with the consumer than the actual business and the products and services it offers. Yes, it’s important to ensure that your product/service provides a solution for the consumer, but more importantly, how you serve your community is key! I have found the success behind Lead Up for Women to be serving first. We stand for the success of other women. Every platform we create and every opportunity we provide women is applied and measured to one simple rule.

Will this opportunity help her SHOW UP, BE SEEN, provide a judgment-free and competition-free zone, and finally will this assist her in sharing her story/message for growth? If the answer is YES, we give the green light and create the opportunity! We believe in...
