What is your story? Or in other words, what made you your awesome self you are today?
My story is one of overcoming the odds and inspiring others to change the narrative for their lives. Within ten years I’ve gone from being homeless with six children in the streets of Atlanta to a political candidate in the “2017,” election, from a GED to a Doctorate degree in Leadership Studies and became a 12x published author. As a motivational speaker, I’m known as a phoenix who has risen from the ashes. I’m in the process of launching my inspirational products online store. I was recently recognized as the honoree for Georgia Mother of the Year “2020,’ by American Mother’s Inc.
What message do you promote?
I promote service, love, and compassion for others. “Our legacy will speak louder after we’re gone.”
In what capacity do you LEAD UP in your community?
I Lead Up in my community as a community advocate, motivational speaker, workshop facilitator, and children’s book author.
In business and/or in life, share a struggle you overcame that other women can relate to?
I overcame homelessness and raising six children as a single parent. It was a lonely and painful journey, but I kept pushing regardless of the rejection and lack of family support.
What is the most rewarding aspect of what you do?
My most rewarding aspect is hearing from people around the world on how I’ve inspired them to go after their goals and dreams.
How do you SHOW UP?
I show up ready to serve, ready to impart the wisdom I’ve gained over the years. I show up as a representative of Jesus ready to walk with others on their journey.
If you could give one piece of advice for women who are entering the workforce or launching their own business what would that be?
Follow your passion, then it would never feel like work. Don’t dim your light for anyone and stay steadfast to the vision God has for your life.
