What is your story? Or in other words, what made you the awesome self you are today?
My story is of a young teen mom struggling to figure out what she wanted to do with her life. After having my son, I decided I wanted to join the Army. I had no idea why but I did it. In the army, I took home major core values that shaped me as a woman. I also met my husband, who gave me three more beautiful children and the life I could never have imagined. Once we moved up to Chicago, I went to school for nursing. That didn't work out so I changed my major to accounting where I found my passion for the little details in numbers and wanted to be home with my babies so I started a bookkeeping business for small business owners like myself.
What message do you promote?
I empower small business owners to have control over their finances and take back time to work in their brilliance
In what capacity do you LEAD UP in your community?
I help in many ways. I'm the treasure for my kids' school PTO. I am the treasure for my neighborhood HOA. I'm the general manager for my son's travel baseball team.
In business and/or in life, share a struggle you overcame that other women can relate to:
I am a young mother who had to pull up her boot straps and raise a baby by myself. Then, I joined the military and served my country, and found a husband in the same place.
What is the most rewarding aspect of what you do?
Seeing the relief on a client's face that everything is taken care of and they know they are compliant with the government and don't have to worry about if their financial records are ready to go.
How do you SHOW UP?
I show up by being in the groups I find and bring value to everyone.
If you could give one piece of advice for women who are entering the workforce or launching their own business what would that be?
Hustle hard like Rick Ross, hard. (I love that song, lol). It’s going to be a struggle, long hours, tears the whole thing, but the freedom you bring to your life is so worth it.
