#Thrive Thursday: Sopheia McMorris, Executive Wisdom Mentor

What is your story? Or in other words, what made you your awesome self you are today?

My nightmare of exercises began with not, having the body, I want. For years I struggled with my weight. At one point I made an excuse that God made some people to be fat and some people to be skinny. It wasn’t until one morning when I sat down to meditate, I experienced my breakthrough, lightbulb moment. I read a quote, “beloved I wish above all things, that thou would prosper and be in health even as thy soul prosper.” As the word soul spoke to me. I went on to discover myself getting clarity and focus-understanding and rewriting my story. Practicing self-awareness-realizing the roadblocks that get in the way of my success.

Align myself-with the decisions I must make now to move my life forward, finding my soul prosperity. When I stopped making excuses, I went on to lose 100 lb.

What message do you promote?

I specialize in using wisdom to help people stop the...

#Thrive Thursday: Nicole Snell, CEO & Speaker for Girls Fight Back

thrive thursday Apr 15, 2021

What message do you promote?

My goal is to empower women and girls with self-defense, personal safety and violence prevention tools. I believe that when we are empowered to live our lives confidently and freely, there is no limit to what we can do.  We are fully capable of defending themselves and we are worth fighting for!

In what capacity do you LEAD UP in your community?

I teach women, girls and people of all genders the basics of how to defend themselves using both their voice and their bodies.  I work with K-12 schools, colleges, the military, corporations and private groups to empower people with basic skills, boundary setting tools and physical techniques they can use in all aspects of their lives.  In 2019 I started an online series called #OutdoorDefense to offer women solo travelers/hikers/adventurers self-defense strategies they can use to feel confident and safe doing what they love.  As a passionate solo traveler and hiker myself, this...

#Thrive Thursday: Leisa Reid, Founder, Get Speaking Gigs Now

thrive thursday Apr 08, 2021

What is your story? Or in other words, what made you your awesome self you are today?

Being raised in Fairbanks, Alaska I learned about survival, resiliency, the kindness of people and the beauty of nature. My dad taught me how to hustle, how to find the humor in just about anything, how to be kind and accepting of others, and that I was loved unconditionally. My mom taught me sharp wit, perseverance, how to travel and that she would always have my back. Although they divorced when I was 2 years old, they maintained a united front and were my biggest cheerleaders.

I was a born teacher. Throughout my life I would always find a way to make it easy for others to learn the concepts that were critical to their success. By the age of 22 years old, I was teaching Interpersonal Communication at Cal State Fullerton University.

Fast forward to becoming a professional speaker at the age of 40. In my first year as a speaker, I booked over 80 speaking gigs! Other entrepreneurs kept asking...

#Thrive Thursday: Brook Borup, Owner, @ My Clone Solution

thrive thursday Mar 25, 2021

What is your story? Or in other words, what made you your awesome self you are today?

I come from a long line of entrepreneurs. My great grandfather sold hats in Michigan during the winters of The Great Depression. My grandfather spent his days cranking a printing press for the local businesses. My father remodels homes for now 3 generations of homeowners. Hustle runs in my family line. Staying close to those roots inspires my business choices.

I spent several years in corporate America before returning to my entrepreneur roots. The amount of support I offered executives as a staff communicator would offer fulfillment. Witnessing corporate waste, greed, and red-tape bureaucracy left me disenchanted with the corporate environment at large.

As I edged towards a career change, I thought back to the sacrifices of my family. We came to accept that sometimes, work had to come first. Every penny contributes to food on the table, lessons for kids, and providing for those we love. What...
