What is your story? Or in other words, what made you your awesome self you are today?

After spending eight years working overseas, different time zones, and datelines, it was time for me to return to the US. I lived and worked in the Marshall Islands and Australia during that time. Before my overseas work contract, I was a beach bum in Maui for 16 years (jk no beach bumming, but Maui life – yes). After so many years of living on an island, I decided Arizona would be a great place to call home. I was fortunate enough to begin my life in the desert and new career/business as a personal assistant. That lead me to work as hard as I could to grow my business, and not look back!

Here I am, not letting my fears stand in the way of my own success.

What is your story? Or in other words, what made you your awesome self you are today?

My story is one of leadership and embracing the role.  As a young girl, I dreaded being seen.  In grade school, as we lined according to height, I was always the last in line because I was the tallest in the class.  Not only was I tall but considered skinny. This came with taunting and I wasn’t thrilled at sticking out and tried to make myself as invisible as possible.  That, however, didn’t stop teachers from calling on me or picking me to do special projects.  I thought if I wasn’t so tall, they couldn’t see me.

I didn’t understand why.  As I got older, I realized they weren’t calling on me because I was the tallest in the class and stuck out but because I was a leader.  This became more apparent as I found myself constantly in leadership roles whether I asked for it or not.  Learning to embrace it was a much...

What is your story? Or in other words, what made you your awesome self you are today?

I am ME and there is no other like me!  I have always been told I have a twin but beyond looking like each other, I think that would be it.  I am complicated.  My awesomeness is made up of my experiences, my knowledge, and my being.   So, here are the highlights as concise as I can be:

A – I am authentic.  What you see is what you get.  Don’t ask me if you don’t want to know.  I won’t mince words but if I don’t have anything nice to say…well, I will be quiet. Enough said.

W – I have this uncanny wisdom which I can only explain from a prior near-death experience where I was told to “remember”.  And, when needed I do.  So, I would say ‘wise beyond my years”.

E – I have experienced in all things eclectic.  Growing up overseas, traveling often,...

What is your story? Or in other words, what made you your awesome self you are today?

In 2016, after battling with chronic undiagnosed mental health issues and a cancer scare, I had a nervous breakdown that drove me to the doctor's office. That was when I received a diagnosis of Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Depression. Once I received the diagnosis I started a blog called Real Girls F.A.R.T. (Fearless, Authentic, Rescuer, Trailblazer) wanting to point to the stigma surrounding mental health conversations much like the taboo around the word ”fart”. I wanted women to be okay with showing their vulnerabilities and be comfortable shedding perfectionism. The blog was therapy for me as well as the desire to help others through their mental health journey. From the blog, we became a social media platform as well as a for-profit that hosts empowerment sessions for women and girls in the community. Continuing to write the blog I started turning my story into a book called Be...

What is your story? Or in other words, what made you your awesome self you are today?

My story is ever-evolving. What I know today, I did not know last night. Hour after hour, minute after minute, I am constantly searching for areas to grow, to do better, and to be better. I have become more vulnerable over the years, which has created a more authentic way of being, this has allowed me to search for truth, for answers and for guidance from others and my creator. I have many women over my life that have mentored me, supported me, and left me with diamond nuggets of information, affirmations, and love. My story is one of hard work, sacrifices, failing, growing, breakdowns, and breakthroughs. Today I am a work towards Awesomeness, today I am a student of Peace and Universal light...So today I am almost Awesome.

The unexpected anxieties of being pregnant throughout Covid-19…

Pregnancy can feel incredibly daunting. Bringing a new life into the world is an incredible experience but expecting mums can often feel anxious and unprepared. In the current climate, pregnant women are undergoing more uncertainty than ever.

On Monday 16th March, pregnant women were officially encompassed in a “vulnerable group” by the chief medical officer. Naturally, this announcement has led to distress and anxiety, especially as there’s little information currently about the impact Covid-19 could have on pregnant women and new-born babies.

Let’s look more closely at the advice that pregnant women should be following and explore the ways that they can cope with pregnancy during the Covid-19 outbreak with the help of a very trusted source, Lil - Lets.

During this time, women and their families must take all the precautions recommended by the UK government, including self-isolation...
